  1. What should I look for in a Counsellor?

    When choosing a Counsellor, you need to feel comfortable and safe to open up and talk freely so as to gain the most from your session.

  2. Can I claim health care rebates?

    Some Counsellors are registered with health funds although you do need to check with your chosen health fund to ensure they cover counselling sessions. Debra does have accreditation with health funds as listed on her website.

  3. What is the difference between Counsellor and Psychologist?

    Counsellors do not diagnose while Psychologists have specialised training to diagnose mental health issues.

  4. What qualifications does a Counsellor have?

    Not all Counsellors are the same, however, if they are licensed and registered with their accredited board, they will have advanced degrees and ongoing studies. Debra is registered with Australian Counselling Association and is a verified member with Psychology Today.
